Open the CMS and add an item to Essays. Title, Dek, Date, Topic and Reading Time drive the lists; Opening Line is the sentence shown on the home page. Body holds the essay. Use Heading 2 for sections: they appear in the “On this page” contents automatically.
In Body, type a marker like [1] right after the word it belongs to. In the Notes field, write the notes as a numbered list in the same order. On wide screens each note appears in the margin beside its line; on phones the number opens the note under its paragraph. Markers without a note stay as plain text.
Give an essay a Series and a Series Part to make it part of a series; series pages list the parts in order. Topics group essays on the archive and on each topic page.
Notes are short posts. Pick a Kind: Note, Link or Quote. Link notes show an “Open link” line when the Link field is filled.
Colours are colour styles with light and dark values; fonts are text styles. Change Pencil to recolour every link, marker and highlight at once. The Day and Lamp switch uses the same styles, so both themes stay in sync.
The form is a native Framer form. Connect it in the form settings to your newsletter tool or to Framer’s own submissions. Test one real sign-up before you launch.
Replace Mara Ellison in the navigation, footer and About page, update the Now page, and change the city in the Local Time control in the navigation.
